The world’best coffees gift set
The world’best coffees gift set consists of 8 of the most popular varieties of coffee in vacuum-packed briquettes. The packaging is designed as a traveler’s suitcase. The simple solution facilitates demonstration of the product in retail outlets up and down the country as well as representing the spirit of the product. Graphic motifs from the ethnic cultures of each of the countries from which the coffee is sourced are used in the packaging design. The designer used these motifs to personify the product, applying them to adhesive labels on the front of the briquettes. The three classes of coffee(“classic”, “exclusive” and “maragogipe”)are distinguished by the colour-coding of the labels.
The aim of this design was to make the packaging stand out from that of competitor’s products by reconstructing its form. The design was arrived at by considering the nature of the products(full cream and low fat milk)and using this to define the form of the packaging while minimizing graphic elements on the carton so that the product characteristics could be expressed through form alone.
